Tropical Spicy Smoothie



  • Serves 1
  • 1 orange, peel and white pith removed
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup mango, frozen
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut water
  • 4 walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 inch piece ginger, peeled
  • pinch of cayenne pepper

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and process until smooth.

This smoothie was a suprise for me. I was not sure how the spices would work but they did. The mango and carrot adds sweetness that mixes well and downplays the strong flavor of the turmeric, ginger and cayenne pepper. These three are amongst the top anti-inflammatory foods you can find. The walnuts adds healthy omega 3 fat to make you feel satisfied until lunch time. It is very delicious, filling and it has become one of my favorites. Perfect for the summer.
