Ingredients:

  • Serves 1
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 leaves kale, stem removed
  • 1 handful spinach
  • ¼ Hass avocado
  • 1 small green apple, cored
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
  • 1 or 2 dates, pitted (optional)

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and process until smooth.
Enjoy!

*This smoothie is thick. To make it more liquid add more water or just a couple of ice cubes will do the trick.

Leafy greens are full of the blood clotting power of vitamin K and quercetin, a plant flavonoid with potent antioxidant action. Coconut milk, flax seeds and avocado are full of heart healthy fats. Lime juice adds vitamin C, another powerful anti-oxidant and a citrus zing to this smoothie. Dates help satisfy a sweet tooth and are full of rich nutrients and surprisingly, nicotine that is thought to be beneficial for curing many kinds of intestinal disorders.
