About Me

integrative nutrition coachI’m Connie Costello, an Integrative Nutrition Coach passionate about food and all that it can do for us. I have created YOUR food MIX program, an individualized weight loss and energy program designed to reduce inflammation and heal your gut using real, wholesome food. So while I am now passionate about food and all that it can do for us that was not always the case.

In fact, if someone had told me 10 years ago I’d be interested in nutrition, I would have laughed. I used to role my eyes when someone told me they were going to use food to cure their whatever condition. If I was sick, I called the doctor and he had the answers.

But then I read a book and it changed my life. It explained how food alone could fix my lifelong constipation, my rosacea, adult acne and even get rid of my painful cysts. I would also shed the extra pounds around my waist, clear my mind and gain energy. Really? Food alone? Do all that? I was skeptical but very curious. I had to try it. I followed the program as prescribed and lo and behold, it worked! It transformed my life. I experienced the power of food and it became the center of my life. I wanted to learn all I could about food and share it with the world.

Fast forward seven years, I became a certified Integrative Nutrition coach, through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the American Association for Drugless Practitioners. I have spent hours researching and blogging on different foods and how they affect our weight, energy and digestion. I attend every possible summit on food and digestive health and I spend hours in the kitchen so you won’t have to. I’ve combined all my personal experience and professional expertise in a powerful solution that can finally show you how to lose weight and regain your energy, naturally.

Our food has changed considerably since the 1980s.

  • We eat processed foods, premade foods and restaurant foods that contain too much sugar, salt, unhealthy fats and chemicals that don’t belong in our bodies.
  • Our food supply has been tainted with hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, chemicals and now genetically modified organisms.
  • Our lives are stressful and sedentary.
  • Pollution and green gases continue to increase at an alarming rate.

We live in a toxic world and our bodies are having a hard time keeping up.

Our gut performs very important functions; it digests our food, absorbs vitamins and minerals and fights disease, over 70% of your immune system is in our gut.

Inflammation compromises your ability to fight disease and causes other organs to overwork, particularly your liver,which results in more inflammation.

Inflammation makes you gain weight, prevents weight loss and drains your energy right out of you.

An inflamed body lacks nutrients and is often hungry and tired.

Let me take you back to Connie’s rooky coaching years.

I became the food sergeant at home.

During my training I discovered my food mix. My food mix is gluten free, dairy free, practically sugar free and land animal free. This mix works for me, I get amazing results from it so my thinking was, if it works for me then my family should eat this way too.

From one day to the next I completely changed the food landscape at home. No more chicken, milk, cheese, bread, crackers, etc. Instead lots of beans and legumes, gluten free grains like quinoa, fish and seafood and vegetables galore. Big mistake!

But history has never had such an amount of processed foods that are devoid of essential vitamins and nutrients. These foods are addictive and breaking free from these foods takes commitment.
