Find Out How to Keep Your Digestive System Healthy

How to Keep Your Digestive System Healthy

There are several things that can go wrong in your digestive system but the most common involve going too often to not at all. In this blog post you will discover the ways on how to keep your digestive system healthy.

My condition was constipation. It was a constant preoccupation of mine for all my childhood years and most of my early adult life.

It made me feel heavy, uncomfortable, I woke up cranky just thinking of it and it took so many years, so many laxatives natural and not, doctor’s visits and more to resolve this condition.

I actually did most of what I recommend you to do if you suffer from constipation; exercise, drink a good amount of water, eat foods with fiber, take only natural laxatives and more.

You can read about this on the section below but what worked for me was changing the way I ate and I thought I ate pretty good.

I discovered that food sensitivities are real.

I loved cheese and included it in every meal and little did I know that my body was reacting to cheese and was trying to tell me this food was not good for me.

But I did not pay attention to the signs, I really didn’t know there was such a thing as food sensitivities. I eliminated cheese from my food mix five years and I have never felt so good.

I have dedicated my life to food and how it affects our digestive system because health starts in the gut. In fact over 70% of your immune system is in our gut.

In this article I share the best natural remedies to help relieve constipation, bloating, gas, heartburn and indigestion.

To keep your digestive system humming smoothly, there are three main strategies that you can follow:

  • Detoxification
  • Adding probiotics to your diet to build healthy gut flora
  • Eat alkalizing foods to balance your blood pH

Removing toxins from the digestive tract, especially the colon, can facilitate digestion, absorption, nutrient assimilation and elimination.

Detox can double up as elimination diet it is great to jump start your weight loss efforts and give you much needed energy!

Adding Probiotics

These are live bacteria and are good for your digestive system. Usually there are good and bacteria found in human body and probiotics are naturally found in human body.

But, due to the increasing pollution and decreasing fighting mechanism of human body it is sometime difficult to maintain good health.

This is the reason nowadays people go for probiotic foods, like – Kefir grains, Dark Chocolate, Pickles, etc.

Alkalizing foods

These foods are low in caloric density and include foods like whole fruits, vegetables and some whole grains. So one should maintain a good balance of these foods.

Kale, Apple, Tofu, Ginger, etc are some of the examples which fall under this category.

In order to maintain a good pH balance it is important to eat alkaline forming foods as they release minerals such as  phosphorus, calcium and magnesium in our blood.

If you are not eating alkaline rich foods then the body pulls these minerals from other organs of the body which may give birth to health problems.

I hope this may have helped you in understanding the importance of eating the right way. Please feel free to share your thoughts.
